When You Need 38mm Depth Instead of 25mm

The extra 13mm depth of the 38mm frame versus a standard 25mm fan provides significantly more blade swept volume, which translates to:

• ~40% higher static pressure at the same RPM — critical when RDHx fin coils have tight fin pitch (≥12 fins per inch)
• ~25% more airflow at 0.5 inH₂O system resistance — supporting rack densities above 80 kW
• Lower RPM at equivalent performance — reduces noise and dramatically extends bearing life in 24/7 AI data center operation

AI Data Center Application Scenarios

Scenario 1 — Ultra-High-Density RDHx (80–120 kW racks): Next-generation AI GPU racks deploying NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 or equivalent systems exceed 100 kW per rack. Active RDHx doors for these racks require 38mm-depth fans to achieve necessary airflow through high-resistance fin coils at manageable RPM.

Scenario 2 — CDU Primary Heat Exchanger Fans: Larger CDU units use plate-fin heat exchangers for air-side heat rejection. The 38mm blade provides sufficient static pressure to push air through these secondary heat exchangers without requiring multiple fan stages.
